Seasonal Wardrobe Rotation: A Four-Box Method
A simple system for keeping only the current season visible — and how it sharpens daily decisions.
Most people keep their entire wardrobe visible year-round and then wonder why mornings feel chaotic. The four-box method removes 60% of visible options without throwing anything away — and recommendations get sharper because the system sees only what is actually wearable today.
Box 1: Active (in closet)
Only the current season. Roughly 30–40 pieces. This is everything you can actually wear in the next 4–12 weeks.
Box 2: Next (under bed)
The next season approaching. Pull it out three weeks before you need it so your eyes pre-adjust to its palette.
Box 3: Off-season (high shelf)
The opposite season. Out of sight, but easy to retrieve if a heatwave or cold snap arrives.
Box 4: Rest (deep storage)
Pieces you have not worn in two seasons. They are candidates for donation or tailoring, but not yet decisions.
